Postdoctoral Fellowship in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities

Insights, Colorado Assessment & Therapy provides pre- and post- doctoral psychology training. The training emphasizes an empirically based approach to diagnostic evaluation for disorders including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning differences, and common comorbid disorders. Insights specializes in providing evaluations to individuals across the lifespan, and offers individual therapy to address social communication deficits, self-advocacy, and comorbid mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, as well as parent consultation and psychoeducation and couples’ support.
The Post-Doctoral Psychology training program emphasizes the development of collaborative diagnostic evaluation and skills of differential diagnosis, as well as opportunities to provide psychotherapy to individuals and their families. The Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow participates in comprehensive psychological evaluations and related training opportunities.
The Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship typically includes: 60-70% specialized clinical training in assessment administration, scoring, data interpretation, and report writing; 10-20% therapy, intervention, consultation, 10% pre-doc intern training, 10% participation in supervision.
Post-doctoral Interns are provided office space, all testing equipment, access to computers, computer support (technical support, network access, internet access, electronic health record software). Current statutes in Colorado require psychology "candidates for licensure" to have one year of supervised post-doctoral experience (which includes 1,500 hours of experience practicing psychology under supervision). Fellows are expected to meet these requirements during the post-doctoral placement, with flexibility for the start and finish dates.
Insights, Colorado Assessment & Therapy is owned by Claire Dumke, PsyD and Nancy Cason, PsyD, BCBA. They are actively involved in the diagnostic evaluations and provide training and supervision as part of a close-knit collaborative team.
Compensation and Benefits:
This postdoctoral fellowship is a paid position with a flexible start date between July and September and requires a 12 month commitment. Previous clinical training and experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities is required. Applicants much have completed or be close to completing a doctorate from an APA-accredited (PhD or PsyD) Clinical, Counseling, School or Professional Psychology program and a one-year related predoctoral internship. - Salary range: $48,000-$52,000/year dependent on experience
